It was yesterday, and really hard to resist adopting more critters! Our two shelter cats are plenty to handle, but really, there are so many cats and dogs that still need good homes. We donated our pieces for the auction that will take place near the end of this month, so you will see a post from me once the auction starts so you can bid or see the other local art being sold to raise funds.
The Art for the Animals show was also judged, and although it was the first time I think we've had our glass judged, it went well, with our goodies earning First Place in the jewelry category! See how excited we were?

Congrats Patrice...We have three dogs and I'm luring in a feral cat, I hope to have her fixed - she is already "well loved" in more ways than one.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! All of my animals have always been rescued! Congrats on the first place win as well!!
ReplyDelete-Sharon, I know what you mean we just fixed 2 mama cats that had litters that ended up dead or run over by landscaping goons. Kudos to you!!
Thanks ladies! Michelle, good to hear you have rescued and/or well-cared-for pets too :) Our shelter kitties are good cats, and they always seem to appreciate what they have.
ReplyDeleteBoy, if we can just get folks to stop letting their pets loose and multiply, that would be a huge step in the right direction. Being at the shelter for the day was eye-opening, I don't even want to share the stats the ladies told Paul about how many get euthanized :(
SO, we try to donate every year they have this art auction in hopes that it will go towards buying more food or taking better/longer care of these poor furry friends! Next year I'll try to remember and mention it in time for everybody to have a chance to donate a piece :)
